NEWSFLASH!
AQH has downsized its Breeding and
Training operation with plans for relocation
to sunny North Carolina in 2011-12.
Most of the AQH herd, our younger
mares and geldings, have moved to new homes during 2010-11. Our
beautiful farm (turn-key and ready to go for breeding or
training) is now offered
for sale with the Remax Agency in Dansville. (More
information below.)
We have retired our aged broodmares who will live out the
remainder of their lives on lush pastures and have retained a
select group of young, well-trained, beautiful, kind, sweet and
intelligent mares with our AQH foundation bloodlines for
personal family use, along with our two Welsh lesson ponies.
Following our downsizing, remaining
at AQH are Princess (Estrellita De Magica) granddaughter
Bronte's Trail and Show mare, with Atonte (Color Me Coosania)
and Wende (Color Me Magical) resting on their laurels from the
show ring and are used as trail horses, cow horses, and lesson
horses at AQH in NY, and following the move to NC.
We will continue to offer Stallion
Services to our senior stallion, Mr Magic Zip. However,
2011 may be your LAST opportunity to
breed your mares locally to this fine stallion. (AQH
tentatively plans to move to NC in 2011-12.)

While you're here...
Be sure to
read about two very special mares who have been a part of AQH and
its family. The first is Magics Coosa Nicki, who overcame
illness and blindness to have a happy, healthy life and who
inspires many.

Read about
the "little orphan that could." One of Mister's 2000
foals, Zips Magical Destiny, overcame great adversity and the
story of her adventures in becoming a real horse is awesome.

About Us:
AQH is located in the small town of Haskinsville
(50 miles south of Rochester, in Steuben County, in the
Finger Lake Region of New York State), and is home to
our prize stallion,
Mr
Magic Zip. Since the late 1960's,
both Jerry and Susan Anderson, Owners and Operators of
AQH, have worked with Quarter Horses in the states of
California, Arizona, and New York. Since 1976,
Jerry and Susan have owned and operated "Shady
Brook Farm," their beef cattle ranch, and, in 1990,
established Anderson Quarter Horses. We are family owned and operated, and we provide a
safe,
loving environment for all our animals. |

Facilities
& Philosophy
|
|
At AQH, we have a strict breeding
philosophy. We breed our
horses for looks, intelligence, disposition,
athletic ability, style and versatility.
Some of the foals become great halter horses, others
terrific pleasure or performance horses, while
still others make great trail horses. We pride
ourselves on the all around usefulness of these show-quality
family horses, many of which are destined to be winning
youth horses. It is our philosophy that the American
Quarter Horse continues to be bred to be the most versatile
and loving animal, and to provide a safe and healthy
environment while at AQH.

In
2000, AQH erected a 60'w x 128'L indoor arena for
training our stallion and boarding horses. Other
amenities include: a 60' W x 144' L horse barn; several
roomy indoor box stables measuring 12' x 12',
with 12' x 24' box stalls for mares with foals; Three
side-by-side run-ins; A breeding bay; Hay
storage, grain/feed room, grooming area and tack
room; Several paddocks for daily turn-out.
On-site staff includes a professional trainer, exercise
grooms, stable hands, facilities maintenance
personnel, and on-call 24-hour veterinary services.
